regards
Chris
Thanks Chris! No live dates at the moment; I’ve currently put gigging on hiatus.
Hey I wanted to say. I sent a wonderful valentines day poem to my valentine this year. I eventually sent it to a few close friends to rate it, one asked if I was going to publish it. Anyhow I was planning to make a video of me reading it well just audio of me reading it an some fancy video ill make. Then upload the finished version to YouTube/vimeo/vevo any or all. It occurred to me, it will be quite basic if it were just my voice. I think A Midnights Summer Dream would work perfectly at complimenting it as ambient music the etherial sounds.
In short could I get your permission to have it as a backing track for my video? Please
Hi David,
Sure — I’d be happy for you to use it; feel free.
Excellent, I will be sure to send you the link when finished and give full credits to you and your music
Chris, I just want to say I find your music is terribly inspiring, in the best way possible:) As a visual artist, I appreciate the palpable atmosphere and color your music exudes, it is definitely one of a kind and utterly detailed. Has accompanied me many an evening during long hours of work. Keep up the wonderful creations!! I’m just sinking my teeth into your latest release…
Thanks Chelsea — glad you’re enjoying it.
Hi,
I think that the ‘petl ep’,is one of your best releases,as i dont always like all of your albums..
will there be more e.p.s?,in the style of petl,or different?
regards….
Hi Michael — no plans to release anything else in the style of Petl, though you might like to check out some old tunes of mine for a similar style (see ‘Vintage Tunes’, below the EPs — I’ve only just uploaded these again).
Hi Chris!just having a wee nosey at your stuff today, bought the downloads of your stuff recently and wish i had just got my hands on the cd’s.I’ll let you know when the set is done, just finishing off my website first.Reading your blog there and you have definitely got the musical talent,i listen to thousands of things a month and your tracks are very intelligent man, a cut above most things.Good luck with all your studies.
Ahoy again there Chris. I noticed just now that you put up your old tunes on bandcamp listed as “Vintage Tunes”, and said that the complete download has 6 bonus tracks.
Which tracks qualify as bonus tracks, and are they all listed on the free tracklist for “Vintage Tunes” on the bandcamp page?
I see only one new, or possible renamed track: “change”. Is it the only newly released one in this current list of vintage tunes?
Are there any other differences as far as re-mastering goes on any of the other previously released tracks? If so, which ones?
Thanks for the new track at least! I may have missed this all-together if i didnt check up on your site thoroughly every now and then. :p
Also thanks for making these tracks available like you have over the years. Ive never gotten sick of them, and they always eventually end up on my playlist again at some point.
I am certain im not alone in recognizing the quality of virtually everything you’ve ever released. I can only imagine how you might go back and forth with whether or not to release some material that never saw a proper release, and to that i say;us fans will surely enjoy it, even if it were but half as good as some of your other works.
Thanks very much, Aaron — I’m glad you do pop your head in from time-to-time; I try to unearth older tracks when I can. Yep, I’m sure you’ll already have the bonus tracks, as they’re from AMD, so not to worry. Change is indeed the only new addition (it was written ages ago for a test animation by Patrick Ehrlund). Nope, I haven’t reworked or remastered any of them… yet.
But, I do plan to package the vintage tracks as a set of proper releases (albeit download-only), as I suspect the older tracks get overlooked sitting on my site. I’m working on a slight remix of ‘Lego’ at the moment, actually, as it stood out sounding rather lo-fi compared to the others I’ve chosen for release (not surprising, as it’s one of my oldest tracks). Tidying up those digital drum samples so they don’t shear your face off, for instance. Got to recreate the drum patterns from scratch though, so I hope it doesn’t sound too different.
Im not sure how overlooked the free stuff on your site is. If people think like i do, one of the first things i do when i find a new artist that i like the sound of, i see if they offer anything for free, and it just so happens that a few that i like have lots of free stuff. However, the tracks are surely good enough to merit its own packaged release, and that may insure its reception to new ears that may not have heard it as soon as they would have otherwise. I cant quite remember, but i may have one of some people that tried to encourage you to release some of your old/unreleased tracks on cd. Ive always felt they were worthy.
I wasnt suggesting that you needed to remaster any of those old tracks, as the versions i have are quite clean and good to my ears, but surely if you feel otherwise, ill be happy to have a re-buffed version of an old favorite, especially with re-worked drum tracks. I trust you know what is best for your own music!
please come to australia. dont make us beg!

Really wonderful music, glad to have discovered it.
I thank chris for very remarkable music. I listened idm much and very much I appreciate creativity of such musicians as kettel lawrence proem secede and other. And your music one of most me nice. The only thing that I can tell that basically has listened to a lot of music thanks to convenient piracy service of downloading from the Internet, but in many respects thanks to this service and has learned new music. But despite it now when I know what music I I want to listen I search to buy disks of musicians which to me are pleasant to listen to them in better quality, to have in the library and is simple from the big gratitude to musicians – to talent, and which understanding of music I am surprised (from what I become certainly more modest)
Omg Lachryma – brilliant work!
Sorry for my english (I am from Ukraine) ..
Your music are in rezonanse with my feeling of world and many tracks are realy interisting music.
Can I ask u about track “Lunar Suburbia”? When I listen it I found that this track has some features from Orbital track “Out There Somewhere” (In Sides album), but your track is more reach. Are my feelings true?
Man, I stumbled upon your music a few months ago through a recommendation on a forum, and it’s absolutely stunning! I’m an amateur musician and I’ve been rather uninspired for the last few months, but listening to your stuff makes me want to produce again… thanks for that!
Thanks for the support, folks!

That’s excellent news, Chris. Absolutely, I’d be more than happy for you to use ‘A Great Wave’ for your wedding — congratulations!
Hey,
Is there anywhere I can get a digital copy of Petl anymore? Cant seem to find the ‘Vintage Tunes’ section you mentioned in earlier comments. I have the vinyl pressing of Petl but Id like to have a good digital copy too if its floating about?
Cheers, and keep up the tunes.
