New Album Soft-Release (Bleep, Amazon mp3)

That is a legitimate term, isn’t it? Soft-release? Well the album’s out in the sense that it can be exchanged for hard-cash from the likes of Amazon mp3 and Bleep. If you’ve already swung by Bleep you’ve probably noticed that they now keep their lossless catalogue in wav format, rather than FLAC. While this might mean downloads are a little longer (less of a problem these days I guess), it’ll also mean greater player compatibility without having to decode anything, which is handy (always a step ahead of the pack, those crafty Bleeplings). Shame lossless still carries a premium over mp3, but I’m sure that’ll fall by the wayside eventually.

Anyway, for the CDs, we’re now looking at next Monday, unless you pre-ordered from Benbecula, in which case you’ll have it this week, I think. As ever, you can stream the whole thing on my music page, or Last.fm.

      Thanks!

Did you start the thread on Xltronic? If so, thanks very much – I really appreciate you spreading the word. Releasing electronic music these days is like pissing into the wind it seems, so I need all the help I can get convincing people to take five to listen to some tunes.

Hi Chris, for me its an honour to write in your blog. First, let me say that the new album is fantastic. The new tunes are great, and so are the already known ones from the EP.
Your proposal deserves a lot more attention, but please don't give up and continue creating that astounding music of yours.
Good luck with the record, the Wire review is a good start!
    Cheers from Spain.

Thanks very much for the kind words — I'm glad folks are enjoying this record. There were many occasions when I feared I wouldn't be able to complete it, that I couldn't work on any more music (compounded by the fact that it's been three long years since Lemodie). So I'm just glad it's finally out there.

    Hi Chris,

Your new album is definately your best work too date, unfortunately your not my fav artist, but you do have the most unique sound that i've ever heard, which makes you,er,unique, maybe like a cross between, tangerine dream.four tet & kettel!..

What i would really like too know though is,now that benbecula is finishing operations, what label will you be releasing on next?,i know its a bit early too ask,but the sound will be abit different as too what label you will release on, like 'sound system bangers',being quite different too your stuff on benbecula, actually,it would be cool for you too go back too toytronic,as there hardly releasing regular stuff these days…

    regards..
