It doesn’t look like the EP will make it to a physical release, as I think Benbecula would rather save the cash until the album came out. But, as that might be a while yet, I’d really like to make the middle four tracks available on 12″. Well, could have all six tracks on there I guess, but it’d be at 33rpm and a bit quieter…

It’s difficult gauging interest for a vinyl release after releasing it online months ago—and having it hit the usual illegal downloading sites too. I can’t imagine more than a couple of dozen people would grab the vinyl, to be honest.

I wonder if there ever will be a change to buy this EP as a physical copy.. I do like some outcome of Benbecula but not worth to hook up on the mineral series.

Sorry, it might not be the right thread for kind of nosy questions like “Guess where music will go next.”
To my modest knowledge there’re few good collaborators who performed with electronic artists: Beth Orton, Björk, Coppé, Elizabeth Fraser, Kazumi, Mara Carlyle, Nicolette and Toni Halliday. Of whom I think Kazumi and Mara Carlyle have the best vocals perhaps because they sing wordlessly and of course have angelic voices.
Anyhow have you ever thought of collaborating with a female vocalist? Thanks.

Glad to hear you’re enjoying DoaA; yep, I’ve been pleased with my collaboration with Benet, and hope to get at least one more track done together for the album (though it’s too early to say when to expect it at the moment, I’m afraid).

Hello Chris [from another chris],

I’ve been a fan of your stuff since i first heard a zelda remix/tribute you did… maybe 6 years ago? Anyhow, since that time i’ve been continually impressed with where you go, and for some reason its’ only occured to me that you might keep a page about your stuff — glad i found it!

I’ve been stuck on arranging my next EP for awhile, and though the process is still rewarding i admit that hearing ‘Death of an Aura’ has humbled me quite a bit, placing my expectations of what i should be able to do ever-higher. Damnit~! :]

In all honesty though, your latest is definitely my favorite this year so far. I’ve mentioned to even my “barely-into-electronic-music” friends that it is worth picking up. The collaborative efforts are very nicely executed on ‘Napoli’ and Raido — definitely feel a bit Plaid-y. The atmosphere throughout the EP is solid.

Reading through the comments – what and when is the next album supposed to be done?

Just finished listening to audiomicrodevice and lemodie so naturally i’m going to hop on over to bleep and pick up Death of An Aura, how could I not? You certainly have a special sound sir, I’m still trying to figure out why I’ve only just heard it now. I’m feeling guilty about not being able to give something back for those other releases, is there any way to donate? thanks again for the music, one of a kind. Cheers!

Yeah, I’d hope the FLACs should be more or less the same price; I could understand a 50p price hike, but not something approaching double the price.

I did the singing—although I wouldn’t call myself a singer, a lot of patience, multiple takes, and cups of hot lemon and honey go a long way.

I really liked whispers a lot. I like to sing myself ( i dont think im half bad), and the kind of vocals that i heard sounded a lot like ways that i would sing along to your tunes. Im very anxious to hear the other tracks!

I cant remember if this has been asked before, but who did the vocals on this new material? a friend of yours?

I hope the flacs are the same price as the mp3s on bleep. I really dont see why they should be more expensive. Download size shouldnt make a difference in todays world, right?

Thanks for reply Chris, but unless I read your comment I thought all these orchestral instruments are real ones. Another track with Benet – I won’t miss it.
BTW recently I listened to your remix on Rusuden – Formulae Remixes, very nice melody it is and absolute antipode to the EP. Two oppositely disposed styles – both are fascinating.

Well what to say Chris…

Without reading your clarification of the EP I already heard it a few times and was amazed about the chrystal clear sounds on this EP. I loved the somehow classical use of voices and was pleased to hear this. Even more when I read it was you experimanting with it.

On the Twoism forum I made a comment by saying “It’s like… IDM reaching manhood. ” and I really mean this. It’s not like the older stuff is childish but more like this one is a huge step because it all sounds so bombastically orchestral.

I also heard some simularities with Kettel’s Whisper me Wishes… you guys really should do a collab soon! Or at least a remix of eachother.

I see on Bleep: Full album 9,99 EUR in MP3, 12,75 EUR for FLAC… But I can’t find an example of “single”, as they say, available in lossless, so I doubt now. Will they release yours? They didn’t answer my mail asking for that.

Juno’s price is a bit too high for dematerialised music imho (strange to have chosen linear wavs).

Kowarisuki—Yep, Benet and I worked on Napoli and Raido (Benet provided the fiddle plucks and guitar strums on Napoli, and all the guitar parts on Raido; I filled out the tracks with the remaining instruments/drums etc.)

I’ve just recently finished another track working with Benet, with another one or two possibly in the works.
